Dr. John and Cathy Russell

Senior Pastor
Following God’s leading, John and Cathy launched Horizon Morgan County in 2008 as a home Bible study. In 2010, Horizon moved to an 8 acre property. In 2016, Horizon moved to a 50 acre campgrounds near Mooresville where we continue to love, serve, and grow by Reaching Up in Worship; Reaching Out through Evangelism; Reaching In through Discipleship; Reaching Down through Service; and Reach Around through Fellowship.

John and Cathy both received Christ in their youth and have served in many different ministry capacities prior to Launching Horizon Morgan County. They have 3 adult sons and one grand child.

James Boyd

Associate Pastor
Pastor James started attending HCFMC in early 2020 prior to moving to the area from Indianapolis. He spends his weekdays as a high school special education teacher and his weekends (as much as possible) in the outdoors or curled up with a good book. Pastor James has been active in youth, young adult, and outreach ministry since 2003.Recently, Pastor James has been leading the martial arts ministry and you can often catch him on the Cajon (box drum) on Sunday mornings with the worship team.

Larry and Marty Mullins

Assistant Pastor

Pastor Larry & Marty Mullins have been attending HCFMC since June 2020. They are the hospitality team, and Larry is the focal for the Labor of Love Work Projects. They moved to the area from Washington State, where they had attended Calvary Chapel South Kent for 21 years. They were both active in the children’s ministry, community outreach, and the Meals Ministry. Larry was a General Contractor for 30 years before retiring in December 2019. Marty was a Secretary at the Boeing Company for 35 years before retiring May of 2020. Larry likes to keep busy with church and home renovation projects, with a few “helping others in the family” projects thrown in. Marty enjoys cooking and needlecraft, such as cross-stitch, needlepoint, tatting, crochet. They started the Senior Moment a few years ago. Senior Moment is a gathering of mostly retired folks in and outside HCFMC for fellowship and table games.

Nathanael Pruett

Teen and Young Adult Director

Nathanael Pruett has been a student teacher for the last five years at horizon Christian fellowship of Morgan county, studying under Dr. John Russell and leading the men’s Bible study. He studied Aviation Maintenance and Technology at Vincennes University and has been working as a heavy duty tractor-technician since graduating in 2018. He loves all forms of the arts, creativity, and craft and using those things to share the love of Christ with others.
